Practice history

The Linnaeus Medical Center has been home to a general practitioner's practice for over 100 years. Three generations of 'Doctor Baggelaar' practiced here. 'Grandpa', 'father' and 'son Coco' were a household name for just as many generations of residents of Amsterdam-Oost. Not just patients, because the physicians were also examining and monitoring physicians.

Since 1994, Coco Baggelaar has been associated with Vincent Kesber. As a duo practice, they staffed the practice until Coco's retirement in 2001. The name 'Doctor Baggelaar' was no longer officially linked to the practice, but the stories and anecdotes are still there.
Since 2001, the association has continued with the arrival of Marloes Leebeek. To date, this has been a pleasant and fruitful collaboration.

In its more than 100-year history, the practice space has changed layout several times. Before the last major renovation in 2006, upon entering, one would immediately enter a large waiting room, set up for the often overcrowded walk-in consultation hours, after which the patient could reach the consultation room via one of the two examination rooms.
There are no longer walk-in consultation hours and visitors first pass an open reception. But the friendly and human approach, with humor and an Amsterdam atmosphere when the situation allows it, and of course professional seriousness where the content of the profession is concerned, have remained timeless.

As of April 1, 2023, Doctor Kesber has retired
